Back to the Clickers main page.

This website is no longer being updated and will soon be retired. Please see our new online resources for current information.

The i>clicker software, required hardware, and instructor remote are free for all faculty members who wish to use i>clicker in their classroom. For many faculty members, i>clicker is used to give quizzes or tests, assess student learning, and enhance student participation.

Getting to know the software

Worried about using i>clicker in your classroom? We're here to help! Click here to sign up for an i>clicker workshop. We will teach you everything you need to know about the instructor remote, the base, and the i>clicker software in order to ensure that your class runs smoothly. We can also answer any questions you may have, as well as loan out practice kits for you to use. If you would like to schedule a separate training session or would like to arrange a departmental training, contact us to arrange a time by calling 615-0099 or emailing us at issinstruction@umich.edu

Registering your course

Once you have decided that you want to use i>clicker, you need to register your course so that your classroom can be equipped with the proper hardware. In order to make sure there are enough clickers available  to meet student needs, we provide the Computer Showcase with anticipated enrollment figures for courses that have registered.  We also collect critical information about your need including if you will permit students to use the web>clicker option in your class.  The earlier you register, the better we are able to serve your needs.

What if I lose my thumb drive?

We added an IF FOUND.txt file to each thumbdrive folder. We suggest filling it out with your name and contact information as soon as possible, so that it can be easily returned to you if anyone finds it. However, if you need to, you can also download the thumbdrive files here.

Suggested syllabus entries

Here are some suggested syllabus entries for i>clicker. You should also feel free to adopt this slide and use it in your course on the first day. It gives students basic information on their clickers, and features a link to our student information page. It can also serve as a useful tool for instructors wanting extra practice with i>clicker.
