Using the Qwizdom Student Response System
Used to promote interactivity and guide the grasp of concepts, student response systems or clickers offer faculty a means to give students a new way to engage with course material and simultaneously assess their level of understanding--all during the contact hour. Using responses to question slides, instructors are immediately able to see how students respond and then tailor class time as a result. Qwizdom is the standard system that is supported in LSA. Review the information in the Resources section to decide if Qwizdom is a good choice for your course.
Faculty Announcements:
- Qwizdom is currently incompatible with Windows Vista. If you are a Windows Vista user, please see your departmental systems administrator or contact the Computer Services Group for a fix.
- A new version of Qwizdom ActionPoint for the PC was introduced Spring term 2008. Read about the changes and new features. Contact the LSA ISS Instruction group (ISSinstruction@umich.edu) if you are interested in learning more about it.
- The deadline for submitting a request to use Qwizdom for Fall 2009 has passed. It may still be possible for you to use Qwizdom in your course, but you should expect to delay the implementation in your course for one to two weeks while sufficient supplies for students are procured. Please fill out a request form and contact us to discuss a possible timeline.
